I actually just bought tickets to go see one of Theresa Caputo’s show here in Charlotte, NC. I agree with the statement that there is a lot of fake mediums out there, however I have literally watched every single show of her’s on tv and she doesn’t “Fish” for answers. She is very talented and gives out very specific personal information nobody else would know or be able to guess, therefore she isn’t a fake. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord” <3

Try researching NDE (near death experience), most doctors believe in the after life. When they have patients who were pronounced dead on the operating table and sometimes “gone” for 30 minutes or more, they come back and tell the doctor and nurses exactly everything that went on and they have done major study’s on this for a very long time. I’ve watched hundreds of testimonies not only from the person experiencing it, but the doctors and nurses too, so I guess everyone is lying. lol

Why does the dead person give her a “D” name instead of saying, “My name is Donna.” How gullible are you? See you can come up with an “explanation” for anything in this world, that is not the actual explanation but which fits. As a skeptic you don’t just only examine what you explain and then completely ignore what science cannot explain. It is a typical tactic used by an extremist skeptic. Focus on what you can explain and hide from what you can’t.
That’s not science… that’s your personal religion (Atheism) ignoring the other evidence because it does not fit your personal belief system.

What bothers me is that money is a constant factor in all of these cases. So many believe that they are psychic and have nothing to back it up. I know of a person who states they are psychic, but for years, nothing. I truly believe we all have a sixth sense, but real people do not want to be famous. Sure who couldn’t use some more money, but it’s the ones that won’t be able to sleep at night by taking a dime from someone that is the real deal. Real Earth Angels are amongst all of us, but they aren’t looking for fame or fortune, they are just looking to help.
If she was truly real, then why didn’t anyone know who she was before she got a show. New Jersey has had shows popping up all over. You never hear of someone in Montanta or Nebraska that have their own show nor making money, hundreds at a time trying to help people.
Our loved ones that have passed on, are in a much better place and they are looking in on us from time to time. As long as we remember, they will always continue to live on through us.
Stop wasting your money on another fraudulent person.

Yes, she can be proven a fake. She asks vague questions, and when she’s wrong, she will steer herself into being right. A cold reader could do what she does. That is no coincidence. People are desperate to contact their deceased relatives, so they are more likely to believe her and block out her misses. If I asked the same questions but first told you I am a cold reader, you would be much more likely to see those misses.

I would wager at least 50% of people who have lost someone close carry or wear something on their person to keep the loved one near to them in thought and for comfort. It was an easy situation for dear ol’ Caputo. A huge chunk of questions asked by these frauds will “hit” at least half of the time.
If spirits could communicate would all of them say so many mundane things? Would Caputo have to keep asking questions of her mark in order to find out the story?
The real question is why people feel the need to believe in shysters. Imagine if REAL communication occurred! All the wonders we would learn, all the questions about death that could be answered. Instead we get these little responses which most of the time have been fed to the medium through questioning, body language etc.
Oh yes, the audience also often fills out questionnaires beforehand. And don’t forget it is not above these people to use shills with hidden microphones picking up conversations. I’m not saying she does it but it is a common tool of the trade.

It’s not that she knows, she starts by asking. When you ask a yes or no question, you can go in either direction with the reading.

They’re both fakes. Notice that John Edward will guess the same names in most of his readings(Mary, Marie, John, James, or any name that starts with an M or a J). Watch the unedited videos of her giving readings on talk shows. Pay attention to the questions she asks. Are they general or specific? How many other people in the audience would connect with what she says? How many times does she get a miss/hit? When she gets a miss, does she move on or broaden her question?

I was one of those people featured with the mics on. We were given readings before the show and it was stated on the episode. We had “mics” on because Dr. Oz was asking us questions about our readings with Theresa.
Previously, I received a reading with Theresa and was on one of the episodes of her season 2 episode 8 Long Island Medium show (I was the lady that hid the pocket watch under my couch cushion before anybody arrived and didn’t even tell my husband about it).
Before she came to my home, I did not give the tv show any info that she could google or look up. As a matter of fact before they arrived the only info TLC/Magilla Entertainment (production company) had were my nickname (no last name), my phone number which is unlisted and not found anywhere on google, and one of my email addresses that I rarely use and is not found on the internet by googling.
The day they came to my house is when I gave them my address. Theresa was given the address that morning and arrived later on after they set up.
What you do not see on her show is the full one hour reading given by her. I was a true skeptic before and she said things that nobody could google, look up or do research on. My husband put specific things in his pocket that were once his father’s who passed away and didn’t tell me.
She mentioned he had his father’s momentos in his pocket and described the items which turned out to be exactly what he had in both of his pockets! I didn’t even know he had these items in his pocket until she mentioned it and he took the items out of his pocket to show me!
She even said my father in law’s name on the first try and again that was not on google or in the newspaper obituaries. When the crew was setting things up before filming, we said nothing to them, did not talk about anyone who passed on, did not mention any of our business and kept an eye on them to see if they were snooping around to fish for info. None of that happened.
Theresa was 99% accurate and it truly amazed me. Everybody has a right to their opinions and if they do not believe in psychic mediums that is okay. We all have our own beliefs and I respect that. In my opinion if she was a fraud she would be the master of fakers because we received a wonderful, amazing, reading from her that was life changing.

My question is; have you ever wondered why this phenomenal “99% accuracy” can never be recreated in a rigorously controlled environment which would preclude the possibility of chicanery? Have you ever wondered why she and others like her flatly refuse to acquiesce to these simple, completely unbiased conditions? Conditions to which, no limits would be imposed on how many times she participated? (to help eliminate the “scattered spirits” conundrum)
I respect your right to believe what you wish but few mental health professionals would agree that this is healthy especially in the case of children…

No disrespect; however, I do NOT believe that Caputo was able to identify exactly what was placed in both pockets. I’m not insinuating that you are lying; however it is Impossible to accomplish this deed and this similar experiment has been proven to be impossible when tested in a contained environment. With that being said, someone is not being honest about Caputo’s visit and the truth will surface.
In addition, it is odd that you have come forward because it is to our understanding persons interviewed are required to sign an N.D.A. (Non-Disclosure Agreement) and if you did sign this agreement then you may be in violation of the terms.
So, please do not misunderstand my intentions; however, I am cynical and I need more proof!

Many of us on staff are patiently waiting your response to the comments made in regards to Caputo. Respectfully, not responding only deteriorates your credibility faster than an olympic downhill skier and red flags have been raised.
1) Why would Caputo have you travel to sit in the audience during her TV interview with Dr. Oz? I have been on TV several times and this seems a bit odd!
2) Are you in violation of the Non-Disclosure Agreement?
3) Why would Caputo give you a “second” reading (as you stated in your comment) knowing she already gave you an hour long reading at your home?
I (and my staff) can probably answer all these questions with accuracy; however, I’d rather give you the benefit and respond.

If she displays all the characteristics of a cold reader and gives very little, if any, reason to think she’s a medium, why believe her? If you charged $500 for readings, you sure as hell would want your clients to leave with positive experiences. But for how long? That’s one session. She wants that money and the attention, not the sense of satisfaction from making people feel better. Why not celebrate the therapists that actually help people get through their problems instead of a liar?

I think most mediums are fake,. THe paranormal is real, i have experienced it and i researched EVPs for awhile. You capture voices of “spirits” who sometimes answer your questions, and sometimes they just say things that dont make sense. But it is real, i still have lots of them on my channel. I dont record for them anymore though, it got to creepy to be honest. But anyone with a voice recorder can do it, don’t believe it then try it yourself, give it at lest a week and you will capture them.

An anecdote from someone who paid to get a reading from an alleged fake psychic means very little without evidence to back it up. Don’t be fooled by her show because it is scripted and edited down to make her appear legit. Also, why does she ask so many probing questions? Her TV show is edited and condensed down so that it appears she is more on then off. The only reason TLC allows this non sense is because people like you continue to watch which gives it high enough ratings to be profitable. I’ve seen 5 or so episodes and all of them lead me to believe she’s a fraud. Watch her live unedited readings on talk shows and it’s apparent that she isn’t nearly as good in person as she is on the show. Watch her performance on Anderson Live. However, I may be less skeptical if I heard a “medium” say something like, “Your mother Teresa, is telling me that in her closet you will find a fake panel, behind that panel you will find a picture and a letter. This “nice lady” is not only giving them false hope, but also charging them money for these readings. If that’s helping people, we should get rid of therapists. Mediums ask a generalized question to an emotionally distraught audience, knowing they’ll get a response from one of them. That’s how they all work. Hmmm, you’ve either never watched her full shows or refuse to see the parts that are impossible to guess – like the time she knew the client had placed a watch in the couch to test her abilities. The reaction of the people she reads is so genuine. Watch at least 5 all the way, of her shows, and you will at least have some doubt in your skepticism. Man I used to be an atheist / skeptic, too. But I had a personal experience that changed my life. It just happens that way for people.

I’ve watched 5 episodes, probably more. I would give examples of her blatant cold reading, but it’s better if you show me one. A lot of her episodes are on the Youtube channel Cartoon2013. “or refuse to see the parts that are impossible to guess”The problem with this is that even if she said some things that were impossible to guess, she’s said a lot more that was easy to explain as cold reading. There are a few instances where she obviously cheated. One is in ‘On The Road – Part 1′.

If she’s wrong, she broadens the question further. Notice that she asks, “Has anyone lost a son?” first. If you would be quiet so we could hear and make up our own minds, it would sure be nice. Why all the bad language? Why are you so angry?I have this gift too, but am a bit afraid of it and have always doubted my abilities, as does Teresa. Not long ago I told a friend that her deceased dad was warning her to check her tires. The very next day she went to the mechanic and he told her if she didn’t get one tire repaired soon, she could have an accident. I was shocked. It is a REAL GIFT.

It’s an obvious sign of an underlying problem that they’re trying to ignore. Therapy is better than going to a fake psychic medium. Two, these people probably won’t be happy with just one reading. That means they’ll have to pay for more, and the readings aren’t cheap.

My daughter and I a psychic. We don’t ask questions. We wait till something comes to us and we relay the information. I didn’t know about the “fishing” thing. Of course there are fakes, but one thing a real psychic can tell you. You don’t always get information upon command. Some days it comes and some days you’re just closed. I hate Sylvia Brown. In reality, you can’t pull this stuff out of your ass at will. You don’t always have the answers and have to say, I don’t know or I can’t get it.

I would think that its just common that people sometimes need new tires, the odds of you guessing that are not astronomical ya know. You know what is truly a gift? Something that should never be taken lightly? Teaching kids some critical thinking skills. Teaching them to look at something objectively so they can look at the evidence and make up their own logical reasonable decisions on their own without any help.That is close to the greatest gift you could ever bestow upon the little fuckers.

Search “A Crapload of Spirit”. At 1:05 she says,”they’re all lined up on the stairs over there.” She’s referring to relatives of the woman she’s reading. In many other readings, she talkings about spirit walking, sitting in chairs, even reaching over and kissing the client. She can supposedly see spirits doing these human things, yet she can’t describe how they look and only passes on vague information. Is that not highly suspicious?
