Theresa Caputo exposed as a FAKE medium and a FRAUD

By on October 4, 2012

Caputo is another in a long line of con artists like Sylvia Browne, James Van Praagh, and John Edward who all claim they can talk to the dead — and that the dead speak back to them, which is the harder part, of course.

Caputo plays with the emotions of vulnerable people mourning the loss of a loved one; she preys on them, using their tragedies as a platform to spew garbage in exchange for money and fame.

Im a fan of this woman and i deeply enjoy the things she does. I dont know if anyone is paid to do this and i dont know if her “gift” is real or if she just facebooks people and tracks them down, all i know is that whatever the hell she does, it really helps people through their struggles. Whether she is a fake or spiritually gifted is beside the point. She helps many people and that is all that matters.

Johnny what about the children she is preying on? Does that matter? have you considered how fragile a small mind is and they cannot comprehend this is “for entrainment only” Let’s say she tells your 7 year old child that a lost loved one really loved them so much and wishes they could still be with you. Let’s say the child thinks of anyway they can to be with “whoever is gone” do you even get a hint where I’m headed with this 1 scenario? Suicides ring any bells? Children are not equipped to have “a message from beyond” and deal with it as comfort…Not to mention a billion other combinations of emotional tragedy that can happen, guns, others, schools, see these combinations forming before your eyes?? This is child abuse in a candy wrapper, she or TLC have no idea the fall out coming from this nor do they care, she is a scumbag making millions from children’s tears. And you defend that?

Any reputable psychologist? Look at the prescriptions that are used on children for ADD, ADHD, depression, etc… I guess it’s ok to you that kids have died or injured others as a result of the side effects of these medications that these psychologists (that don’t prey on children) prescribe them for drug studies or because its new to the market and drug companies need help pushing them. There are flaws with everything and not saying all therapies are bad, but if it gives that person peace in their own soul, then who is anyone else to judge? Think about this, people have went to doctors for help of some kind since the beginning of time. There are good doctors and bad doctors. Yes it is medical science but thru the years they have used trial and error and plain old guessing games to heal and help. Just like there are mediums or what have you, that may have some gift but not as keen to it as others. Personally I would feel better knowing that my loved ones that have passed on are around to watch over me and to know they are ok.

            @Tiffiny

Your argument is every bit as flawed as your logic …

What does perpetuating a lie like psychic/ mediumship have to do with ADD, ADHD, depression, etc.? ….a good, qualified grief counselor does not prescribe medication but thanks for the salient example of a shallow, Straw Man debate tactic…it only goes to show that when one grasps at straws to validate that which is ludicrous and easily dismantled, they will almost always revert to the usual, laughably absurd narratives in desperation ( at times almost word for word) …

Sure there are unethical physicians out there but to insinuate that confounding a child’s loss of a loved one or parent by infusing such a blatant lie is despicable and obviously unhealthy for a myriad of reasons that anyone with a ounce of common sense will surely decry …

Sure you can cite parallels with modern religion but
does a priest or minister ever claim to be able to contact and communicate with the discorporate spirit of the lost loved one?…

Does a qualified grief counselor ever claim that the ghost of a loved one can be contacted at any time by suggestion of preposterous magical super powers? …

What these abhorrent frauds purvey is a lie and does not promote healthy closure and healing, it only prevents and prolongs it… and while some argue that the harm these charlatans can do is negligible, professionals agree the damage may be incalculable and it is all motivated by greed and self promotion…

“Yes your Daddy is gone but if Mommy pays the tacky lady with big hair and fake nails enough money we can talk to him whenever we like honey”

            Shame on you

Why do you think these hacks RUN from demonstrating these amazing “gifts” in a controlled environment where the chance of pre-screening and cold reading victims is eliminated? …

Because they have no special abilities and people that believe they do are either blinded by grief, really dumb or have a vested interest in promoting this charade themselves …PERIOD

Psychologists don’t prescribe medication, psychiatrists do. A psychologist uses treatment approaches like cognitive-behavioural therapy, exposure therapy, solution-focused therapy, etc. If you’re going to throw an entire profession under the bus, at least make sure it’s the right one.

I wont say i’m a complete skeptic, but these people are rip offs. Its a con, and just like every other profession in the world, there is going to be good ones and bad ones. The great ones get on tv. I don’t agree that there is much harm in it, less than say douche bag lawyers or other jobs. It is what it is, someone will believe what they want to believe, so all she is doing is giving them what they want. Keep the kids out of it though. That could be harmful.

As with all other cold readers, one has to note how many questions she ASKS, as opposed to TELLING people information about the subject at hand. I want to scream “people, can’t you see what she is doing?” A psychic would know the answers; the “spirits” would be telling her what she should say.

They usually do the 50-50–at least half the folks in the audience will find a hit in what she says. Many people carry around mementos of their loved ones; how simplistic is that? And shame on other TV personalities who seem to go along with this. Are they paid extra to do so?

There should be a law against these IMO frauds, but the big disclaimer is always “for entertainment purposes only”. Well, taking shameless advantage of those who are in so much grief is not entertainment. It is cruel.

No such thing as psychic powers exist. Even the oracle at Delphi was giving out advice and in a trance like state because she was inhaling hallucinogenic vapors coming up through the ground in the area she was sitting. Yet people flocked from far and near to get answers to their questions.

Society has sunk to a new low when people are glorified on TV, make mounds of money and are never called to task for the fakery of their profession. Do they not have a shred of conscience?

Don’t shift the burden of proof. Not being able to disprove a claim doesn’t automatically mean it then must be true, you must provide evidence for the claim. Your ignorance is amazing.

You are so right, DA. The Oracle of Delphi, and “court astrologers” throughout the ages were almost always “intelligence operations”. They were spies for opposing forces, using the naive beliefs of their targets to manipulate them into losing wars or their kingdoms.

As P.T. Barnum once said, “There’s a sucker born every minute”.

At the end of the day, nothing has really changed for the grieving person. Grief has always been, and probably always will be one of the most painful experiences for a human being. Even as the process of grieving proceeds, there comes a time when you just have to “let go”.

I seriously get what you are saying here, but
she also gives private one-on-one readings and gives the person very specific information that only they would know to validate her authenticity. The reason she asks questions (I know this from personal experience) is because she sees symbols that represent something the spirit is trying to communicate to her.

All mediums are different. Some can hear voices, others see shadows, and a few can actually see the ghosts and banter with them, but most mediums just get symbols that they have to interpret by asking questions. I am not a medium like her, but I have seen symbols and actually saved someone from committing suicide because I relayed them to someone in the nick of time. Although I felt kind of stupid saying it at first, I was glad I did.

When I get these messages I do not charge money. People can choose to believe me or not. I don’t care, but I do feel compelled to tell the loved one what the deceased is trying to say to them. It’s not my profession but I do have the gift. Also, everyone has this ability and can do it with just a little bit of intuition training. It’s okay to have an open mind. The laws of science work regardless! Something is classified as supernatural when we don’t understand it, or have “laws” for it, in the natural. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist just because we can’t understand it.

Sure, there are plenty of charlatans out there, but there are folks that are the real deal too. And if you want more proof, actually talk to a medium in person before making sweeping judgments on an entire community of people who really do care about people and have the ability to help them feel better.

The “reason she asks questions” is because she is fishing for any type of lead or body language to denote a path for her to take. Mediums are non-existent, intuition is natural to every living organism on this planet and that doesn’t make it supernatural, just natural. Teresa Caputo has been proven a cold reading fraud from what I’ve seen in the videos posted. Simple fishing, hook and capture with one exception, she doesn’t throw her catches back.. It’s a shame that there are those like her who prey upon the grieving who are so heartbroken they would pay anything for just one more “hello” or “I love you”

You can try and defend this charlatan and tell yourself she is “real” but it’s you who are just another one of her fools.

I’m a long-time atheist and skeptic. I’m a fan of James Randi, Paul Kurtz (RIP), Joe Nickell, Henry Gordon (who wrote the book on cold reading), and other debunkers. I’ve been to two CSICOP conferences, and started a humanist group in Arizona. I’m watching this show really carefully for signs of cold reading, and I’m not seeing them. She does a little bit of “fishing” at the start of groups sessions, but then drills into some pretty specific stuff. What I’m looking for is a Randi-type exposure of her “operation” from the inside out. Where is she getting her specifics? Does she have an “organization.” aids or helpers that investigate or spy on her clients before they arrive? Or are they simply employing actors?

I’m sorry, but “What is this about a pet mouse?” is not a typical cold reading fishing question. You need to do better.

Le-fucking-GIT. I have watched her over, and over, and OVER, and obviously, you you ‘scifake’ attention seekers don’t even know what cold reading is. She and TLC would have to be staging, and paying actors all across the board, and only if one of them comes forward, does your attack bear credence. So far, the odds seem to be in her favor of being legit. Just because you don’t want to believe in it doesn’t give you the excuse to make accusations using words and phrases you don’t understand, while sprinkling some self-righteousness on top. This website is a sham. You just want attention, and might be a little upset that she gets far more than this site ever will.

No, the odds are profoundly against her being legit, based on the history of investigation of psychic phenomena. No one has yet claimed the Randi prize. But unlike some here, I leave the door open for “that first occurrence.” Theresa may be “it”, but not until someone infiltrates her operation and tells us what’s really going on. You can’t base ANYTHING on what you see in a “reality” show. (Here’s your first hint: Yes, they ARE staged.)

I just went to her live show tonight in Milwaukee. I felt like she asked leading questions and when she gets validation, she sticks around and asks more random questions trying to draw them out more. She blamed the poor mic connection on “spirits” and the whistling noise coming from the speakers (most would call it feedback) was also blamed on “spirits”. Those firm believers, fell for it. I just sat and observed. Nothing stood out to me as astonishing. Asking if a spouse has passed, a sibling has passed, a child has passed or a parent had passed gets her to another section of the room. She will try to go to more personal things like – do you carry a picture of your loved one? I don’t know. At any rate, I think it’s great if you feel like your relative is shining through and answering all of your unanswered questions giving you that final sense of relief that you’ve longed for. I didn’t feel the least bit impressed. Especially since she went to one side of the auditorium and managed to linger up and down the aisle the entire allotted time. She went upstairs to the upper deck for 10 mins. Those readings were terrible. At that time, our section hoped she may swing by or at least acknowledge our presence but no, she came back in the same door she left to go upstairs and gave readings down the same aisle she had done the first 1.5 hours of her show. I know she couldn’t read EVERYONE in this 2000 person sold out auditorium but I thought to be fair, she would at least make her way around the room. Waste of $70.

I agree with you. Now keep in mind I was a skeptic. Before I became a teenager, my dad was always telling me about spirits he has seen. He feared them. He never liked being in the dark. We went fishing when I was I guess about 12 or 13. While fishing he said where are you. I asked him who he was talking to. He said didn’t you hear someone calling for help out in the water. I said no and he kept up asking this non-existant person where he or she was located. He said someone was out there in the bayou calling for help. I really thought my dad was bonkers for a long time with all this foolshness.

But then one day I came home from school and laid down in bed to take a nap. I was 16 at the time. As I started to doze off, I felt the bed go down and thought my sister was playing a trick on me just to annoy me. When I looked around, nobody was there. I didn’t see anything, but this thing just didn’t want me to go to sleep. Even when I went to bed that night and many nights after that, this spirit, which I believe was an evil spirit did not want me to sleep. When I tried to ignore it, it would run up and down in the bed between my legs. it would switch sides. It had 2 feet that seemed to be very tiny. I dreaded going to bed at night. I could feel it crawl into bed with me. I did not see impressions in the bed as it walked back and forth up to my waist, then turn around and walk back toward my feet. It’s hard to explain but, it’s just like I had an extra sense that let me know this presence. When I tried to doze off it seemed to get angry that I was trying to go to sleep, then it would start running back and forth toward my waist, then toward my feet. This thing made me misearble. It would let up, but would come and go for several years. I somehow learned to tune it out of my life and the visits finally stopped. That’s when I became a believer. But it didn’t end there.

I was at a friend’s house and had my first physical experience with a spirit. I was in my late thirtys or early forties then. I went to the bathroom and locked the door. I’m a fanatic about making sure doors are locked after leaving or entering. Suddenly the door just popped open. Here I go again, I thought my friend opened the door on me. When I looked out of the bathroom, my friend was sitting on the sofa. I simply closed the bathroom door again and made sure it was locked, pulling on it to make sure it was fully engaged and and it wouldn’t budge. As soon as I turned away from the door, it popped open again. I didn’t want to alarm my friend or appear like a nut, so I asked if there was anything strange going on in the house. My friend said that sometimes the door moves back and forth, but attributed to the air conditioner (?). But it didn’t stop there either.

When I was 61 years old, I had my first vision. It was a vision of my former childhood sweetheart’s mother. It stayed with me for 3 days. I could tell that this was nothing evil like my first experince. I was comfortable with it the whole 3 days. When I closed my eyes at night I went right to sleep. She didn’t try to keep me awake or frighten me, but when I would wake up in the morning, there she would be right in front of my eyes. I could tell she was trying to tell me something, but since she didn’t speak to me, The only thing I had to go on was that she always had a strange expression on her face. It wasn’t a happy expression, but it wasn’t a sad expression. I didn’t know how to figure out what she wanted to tell me. She didn’t appear to me in full form or even as person. She actually appeared to me as a picture in black and white through out the day until I went to sleep.

Shortly after this vision, I picked up my mother to taker her out to eat. Just as I turned at an intersection on the way to the restaurant, a man at a gas station opened his door on his car and this lady’s last name was neatly handwritten on the car door. Just nearly at the same time, the door on the othe side opened with her name on the door. I guess it was someone with the same last name, most likely adverstising something, but I must admit I was stunned, as this is not a common last name. Especially, when I thought about the timing of my turning at that instant when the doors opened as if to show me the vision was not my imagination, along with the fact this was shortly after my vision. Nobody can convince me this was a coincedence and I explain further.

I then knew I had to figure out why she chose to visit me this late in life and why. I thought about John Edward and Jean Dixon explaining that the spirits don’t actually hold a conversation with them, but they have to decipher the signs they are given by the spirits. This I know sounds suspicious. If spirits have the power to visit you, why don’t they just speak up. I guess they are limited, and I know that sounds ridiculous to many. But I amd now a believer of that too. I’ll explain why.

As I said this lady had a strange expression on her face and that always bugged me. It took me about 2 years to put everything togert her. I always assumed that a vision from a dead person was a message of a death warning, but I was wrong. That strange expression on her face was the sign I needed to decipher. As I said I thought maybe it was a death warning from the lady and possibly she wanted me to contact her daughter to have her have a health screening for a terminal disease. I haven’t seen her daughter since 1965 and didn’t know if she still lived in this state. I decided to take a chance and make a total fool of myself and locate her address through one of those internet companies you pay.
Sure enough it came through with several addresses and I finally hit on the right one. It turned out she lived less than 5 miles from me.

Well I sent a letter to her and she called me and didn’t think I was a nut, as she is into the spiritual world and told me and her husband both had an experince with a spirit in their home. Well, with permission from my wife and her husband, she wanted to have lunch with me. She also reconnected with my sister and they got together.

I finally discovered what her mother was trying to tell me. Remember I said her mother had a strange expression and that was the sign. That expression on my old sweetheart’s mother’s face became clear to me what she was trying to tell me. That expression became so obvious. That facial expression said, man do I have something to tell and show you. Whate she was trying to tell me is that her daughter still loved me. How do I know? She told me twice. Once on the phone when she called me after receiving my letter and the second (and most embarrassing) time was in front of her husband after she hugged me tight and kissed me. He didn’t get angry, but I’m sure he was hurt by that. All he said before I left is “don’t be a stranger, come over sometimes.”

You see we were in love, but my sister talked her into going out with her to places to meet guys, since she lost her boyfriend. My sister and I didn’t get along back then and I guess didn’t care if I lost the girl I originally intended to marry. My sister actually introduced the girl I loved to the guy she married. The marriage lasted a little over a year and she realized she made a mistake. She wanted to get back with me and we did for a short time, but too much time had gone by and decided to move on.

What does this have to do with my vision. I also believe possibly my old sweetheart’s mother wanted to show me and my sister, that my sister may have ruined our future together. My old girlfriend told me after we reconnected, her mother was not happy about what my sister did.

P, S. IF YOU OR ANYONE HAS ANY TIPS ON HOW I MAY DEVELOP SKILLS TO CONTACT THE GOOD SPIRITS, PLEASE LET ME HEAR FROM YOU.

        Dear Ben,
You are not alone. Look, there are more people than you may realize who have had and continue to have similar experiences – all asking many of the same questions. for as long as I can remember, I have always been an observant person. I must admit that within the last five years or so, I have met more people than I could of ever imagined-with varying psychic abilities. At the same time, I have also met an equal amount of individuals who are completely disconnected spiritually and psychically.

It’s been a startling observation. It is as though an invisible chasm has appeared and there are people on both sides. The disconnected on one side-angry because they simply cannot understand-unwilling to open their minds. The dichotomy is that they actually do believe or they wouldn’t be so hellbent on disproving the psychic/spiritual experience….at all costs. Many of the psychically connected, wandering like lost puppies-always questioning. So really, it’s two sides of the same coin.

I read some of the comments in response to your thread. I was taken aback with the vehement and dismissive comments when no one could possibly know what you have experienced. I felt compelled to respond, hoping to dispel any doubt in your mind.

What you are experiencing is very real. You asked if anyone for tips on how to develop your skills? Let me clarify something-there is nothing magical about any of this. We are all spiritual beings and we all have the ability to connect or not. Ultimately, it’s a choice…that’s all. My only advice is to observe, pay attention and be mindful. Preconceptions will cloud your ability to receive. If you need clarity, just ask…you will get an answer. It may not be what you expect but, like I said “no preconceptions”-just listen and pay attention.

GAUD. These “So why don’t you know where not solved if mediums are the real deal?” comments are driving me nuts. From what I understand through my research, the reader does not pick the spirit; the spirit picks them. Additionally, it could very well be that those individuals may be trying to come forward through a medium but that medium may not be able to put together the connection, especially if they’re on the other side of the country or halfway around the globe. As far as the “Long Island Medium” is concerned, I have never once heard her claim that she can see into the future but only that, she can feel the presents of diseased individuals. Additionally, she has in fact OFTEN given initials, names, and other specifics during readings. I’m not necessarily claiming she is the real thing. My point is that some of the “points” brought up by others to debunk her validity, has in actuality happened.

Some people choose to accept as truth only that which can be scientifically proven repeatedly (100%) in a laboratory environment. Faith in anything is foolish. If it cannot be proven today, it cannot be real, by definition.

But remember, the world was flat……..until it wasn’t.

Yes, there are thieves, con artists, and charlatans in this world, so be careful with your emotions and your money. But be open-minded enough to accept that we don’t know everything.

We have proven she works the audience, we have proven she is cold reading and most everything she says is EXACTLY what the other cons like her say (i.e Silvia Brown, John Edwards ect…) We have shown her only fan base are those reluctant to use logic and turn away from proof that they have indeed been led down the primrose path.

Your “proof” is a little thin. Simply repeating yourself doesn’t make you right. You haven’t explained how she comes up with very narrow, specific details she could not have researched in advance. I’m talking about things held private, told to no one. Even the skeptics here have some of those secrets.

Have you watched multiple episodes to gather your data? They are ALL actors and co-conspirators? Even the skeptics who lost loved ones to suicide and tragic accidents? That’s a stretch. Even if I grant that she doesn’t always get everything exactly right, what about when she does? Let’s say half. Even 25% or 10%? Explain the weird, quirky details if she’s totally guessing. Even the best artificial intelligence engines can’t narrow things down that fast with so few hints/clues.

I can’t explain it, but I’m also not ready to dismiss her.

I find it interesting that you only allow 2 options: lying or inadvertent “leakage”. Because you can’t imagine something, that means it simply can’t be so? There, problem solved! That doesn’t sound very scientific to me.

The fact is, it’s impossible to prove anything to an avowed skeptic. Deny all anecdotal “evidence” as lies or mistakes. If you subjected yourself to a “reading”, you could declare it a fraud regardless. Randi has his “out”, because he can make up whatever rules he wants to control the experiment and the results. Sure, simplicity is generally better, but again, there could be other explanations that you seem completely unwilling to entertain because they are inconsistent with your established world view. If I acknowledge she could be a fake, are you willing to acknowledge she might not be?

Re: Holloway and Peterson, I have no idea. If she’s legit, the “gift” may not work that way. Why couldn’t it be real AND limited? If you can run 15 mph, does that mean you (logically) must also be able to run 60 mph? If you can do something, must you also be able to do everything?

As for Randi, I think you misunderstood my point. I wasn’t saying the conditions would change in midstream or that he would manipulate documented results. I’m saying that he would impose conditions up front that are impossible for anyone with this “gift” to satisfy. He would eliminate the participation of anyone but himself, because they could be co-conspirators. He could simply deny any “hits” or require 100% precision. Why would anyone with this gift (if it’s real) subject themselves to certain failure?

I’ll take a look at the exact provisions of the Randi Challenge and address this categorically but as I recall the challenge was designed to specifically validate the type of “hits” these psychics allege only the possibility for deception has been eliminated…

I also believe that denying correct hits, altering the conditions of the challenge or manipulating results is impossible as the data is locked in a box, registered with several impartial notaries and moderated by various institutions and universities etc. …

They wont subject themselves to this because successfully completing the challenge would require real psychic abilities/gifts (if they even exist)….

You claim that those such as Theresa pray on the emotionally week or vulnerable, portraying them as victims. When in reality this could not be further from the truth. She provides these people with closure, forgiveness, proof of an afterlife, or whatever it is that they desire to allow themselves to heal their pain. The validity of her ability to perform these readings is of no consequence, for reality is shaped and determined by ones perception. What she gives these people cannot be bought or found in any tangible market. Essentially what she gives them is priceless. Through your posts it is obvious that you not only strive to take this away from people but derive some sick pleasure in doing so. How much pain have you suffered; how scared is your heart that you take pleasure in the pain of others. It’s all about status in their world. If they (the suckers) can boast they had a reading, that’s instant status among their peers (other lower/middle lower class) and more suckers for Teresa Caputo. You can say what you want, but she is for real in every shape and form. Most of you have no idea about her, but what you think you know and it’s very amusing to read. If you dislike her then don’t pay any attention, but to the people she has helped, the countless families, let them have what she did for them. -Natalee Holloway
    -Madeleine McCann

Pick one of the names and use your psychic super powers to find that person within the next week or two and prove to the world these powers/gifts/abilities exist. Prove to the world that you really are benevolent loving souls and not just the parasitic charlatans, and cheap carnival side show acts that our increasingly dumbed-down society has celebrated…

*Stacy Peterson’s location may have even been narrowed down according to recent developments…

These are just some rather well known missing person cases that have yet to be resolved …there is an enormous data base of missing persons/children we can refer to if one of you loving, caring, selfless, psychic super-humans really wanted to make a difference in the life of someone agonizing over thewhereabouts of a loved one …

If anyone would like to add to this list of missing persons, please feel free …you know, just in case the spirits of Stacy, Lisa, Natalee or Madeleine don’t want to be found and are “ blocking” (pffffft) …

Ron, you should make a thread out of this challenge and address each of these psychic celebs individually with similar challenges …it would look really bad if they REFUSED to help these anguishing families …

“So is the Long Island Medium really communicating with those who have passed on, or is she simply using trickery to fool the living? INSIDE EDITION decided to see what happens at her popular live readings across the country. What we saw was starkly different from what viewers see on her TV show.

On TV, she’s almost always dead right, but at her live shows, we watched her strike out time and again.”

It saddens me that people like you spend so much time trying to defraud those that actually have a gift from God, that we all can tap into. I know I have been dealing with it since my very first childhood memories, no explanation for it, the women in my family have “something” as everyone does. You choose to use ot or block it very early on in life. No one asks for it, like Diabetes. Will you go after those claiming to have Diabetes? What truly gets me is that you people DO believe in Jesus, the greatest psychic/supernatural abilities was a human…would you accept a man dressed in today’s garb saying he is the son of God. No, you just did so by creating this site….all children of God. What keeps me laughing is that you WILL be proven wrong in your time, not the other way around. I truly feel sorry for you, I know you departed loved one do.

Don’t be sad for us Lisa Marie, be sad for all the gullible victims Teresa Caputo fleeces. All the children she has told that she actually talks to their deceased parent(s), be sad for them because they are truly in the company of a heartless, soulless bitch. So you think diabetes, a proven medical condition affecting the health and life of those afflicted is comparable to a fraud who cons those with a broken heart?

Yes, I do believe in Jesus as many here do but when you describe him as “the greatest psychic/supernatural abilities was a human” You make me sick and I see right through you … You say this only to TRY and back your own very selfish ego and make your argument stronger but it doesn’t and it shows how petty and insecure you are by trying to throw the “I’m special too” BS in.
You are neither psychic nor special and maybe that is why you tried to interject yourself in the same lines as you did with Jesus…

Science is also to a large extent the same thing. Theory is put out there and then “facts” found to suit the theory. I haven’t seen one thing in any of these sites that “prove” anything is fake or not. Just a bunch of so called skeptics spouting on about “science”. And all the things science can’t prove are therefore fake, right? Science also has limits.

If you want to know if a medium is real or fake, it’s quite simple. Make an appointment using a public phone or a “throwaway” cell phone. Don’t give your real name. Use your middle name or a nickname. When you show up for the appointment, show up in a cab or park around the corner from the place of your appointment. Remove all jewelry before your appointment. Also, don’t wear your own clothes. Wear a friend’s or a relative’s. Use an accent to respond to the medium. Think before you respond & limit your responses to as few words as possible. If you like, set with your back to the medium. Make your own recording if one isn’t offered so that you can carefully review everything said later & make sure you didn’t provide any leading information.

Excellent ideas Trey, I think the people who pay her appointment costs and look to her for a glimpse of hope regarding speaking to a passed loved one, either wont risk offending their idol, or they want to believe her so badly, they wont take a chance proving she’s not what she says and that it’s merely an act.

Isn’t it amazing how she has to ask questions because she says that she gets only vague clues from the departed. However, once she finds her mark and they buy into the BS, the departed all of a sudden get very specific. For instance, she may start with “who died?”, “my husband.” She will then ask, “he was sick wasn’t he” – no kidding, he died of something didn’t he? Anyway, once she gets all this then she says, “You’re husband is a funny one. He’s telling me that he could be very stubborn sometimes.” Really? If the husband can talk to her so clearly about being stubborn, then why do you need all the questions in the first place?

“Reputable psychologist”??? Lets think about this for a minute… They overcharge to sit and listen to people talk about their personal and private issues, “they’re not there to judge”, but prescribe meds with horrible side effects for the diagnosis they give the patient. Have you sat back and thought that maybe this is the way that someone deals with their grief over the loss of a loved one? They aren’t hurting anyone and if it bothers you that bad, then don’t watch it.

I was watching the other day, and she got caught red handed on her own show. I couldn’t believe the left it in. She was at some Christmas party for a group reading and before she went in, she tried “reading” a guy dressed as Santa Claus that was standing outside the house. She goes (in all seriousness) “..so I have a spirit telling me that you’re not from around here..” and the guy played along, he goes something like, “Oh yes..I’m from nowhere near here. I’m from way up North.” She goes, “”Detriot, right?” “No.” “Oh right, Canda!” “No.” At this point she gives up. “What, like Alaska?” “No.” He says, “The North Pole.” BOOM! She tried playing it off as a joke but he fucking got her GOOD.

He was actually just in character as Santa Claus and Theresa was ASKING where he was from. Both she and her husband thought it was funny when he said “The North Pole.” He wasn’t showing that she was a fraud, he was just working and might not have taken her seriously. Others are deeply affected by Theresa because of the minuscule details that are communicated through her. I will never understand why people get so much joy out of proving mediums “aren’t real.” Mediums are human beings, and nobody is perfect, so certain messages can be misconstrued or misunderstood completely, resulting in slight falsities. These are unfortunately the only things that stick out–”Fake psychic!” “Theresa Caputo a FRAUD!” We should be looking at all of those positively affected instead. There are certain things in life that can’t be explained, and this is one of those things that, unless you have a direct experience to sway your opinion, you might not “get.” However, no medium is out to harm the public. They only want to relay messages and let loved ones know that there is life after death and that those who’ve died are at peace. There’s nothing wrong with that. Theresa and other mediums will tell you that they aren’t here to entertain or sway skeptics.
