A Shocker? Another Psychic (Chip Coffey) Busted for Being Wrong?

Editor’s Note: Chip Coffey, our favorite of all psychics (rolling my eyes). He’s got to be unhinged about Theresa Caputo’s pseudo success and to think he put a lot of spurious effort into his career and now it is slowly swirling in the drain! Why? Because Chip Coffey is not a good cold reader and he is not aggressive.

Onto the story! We received a letter from a woman who spent $200 to see Chip Coffey! Yeah, I know, $200 to see another fraud perform his bogus act (throwing up)! Chip (once again) has been caught in a web of lies and pissed off another devotee! Below is her letter and we corrected NOTHING! In addition, she gave us permission to use her real name. Enjoy!

Thursday October 25, 2012, I went to see Chip Coffey at the Congress hotel 520. S Michigan in Chicago. I wanted to believe in him so much , I wish I read about cold readings and how they would stage paranormal state before I went. I paid over $200 to go, the first part he talked about his childhood and when he became a physic medium, He claims at about seven years old he started seeing spirits, he claimed to be the first caller id, he knew who was calling before they called. He claimed his great-grandmother was a full-blooded Cherokee Indian medicine woman and people would travel for miles to see her. He claims he didn’t start using his powers til fourteen years ago, he tried to become an actor and worked on a physic phone line.He said after his mom died he didn’t see her til nine years later, but he can see other people’s relatives just by looking at them! the second part he did a few readings including me, but he also mentioned if you want a full reading you have to call the number on his website and it cost $500! You had to tell him the name of the person (my father Robert,but he went by the names of Bob or coach , which he didn’t pick up on how long he passed away (ten years) and how old were they(53). He was so off, he guessed it was my father , but everything else he was so off! He would say it may not come to you know, but if you think about it, you will figure it out, I remember everything about my dad. It was almost like if he told you the sky was red one day you will believe it! A tattoo of mine was showing and he was like a comedian , saying your dad didn’t like your tattoos, but he never really said anything, Well who’s parents like tattoos on their children?! He never mentioned I had coach tattooed on the back of my neck! He said he was funny and stubborn, most men are , and if you die at 53 of cancer , you were to stubborn to go to the doctor! Chip said no questions that is only if you book a 500$ reading, but I threw one in, I asked about the picture? He was squinting his eyes and looking like he was thinking very hard! Finally he told me I will find it, I said no the picture of me in his office he took down? My father and I grew apart for 5 years and he took down the only picture of me in his office, and I always wondered why he never put it back up, when he had a bunch of pictures of my brother. He came back with he is talking about a picture of you and him you will find soon, then he stopped! He claims to do all this work for animal charities , but he didn’t pick up I run a pit bull rescue or that I rehabilitate wild animals, racoons opossums ect. He did about 8 readings total. The worst for me was a mother that lost her child at the age of 13. First he said they don’t know if it was an accident or not? Well he was hit by a car on a bike, it was an accident! Then when Chip found out his age he played on her emotions, said what most 13 yr old boys do, like she was the softy, if he wanted something he didn’t go to dad , he went to mommy, he knew the dad was there because he asked! she was crying so hard. The last part of the event that was about 60$ more was Chip playing around for a half an hour w/ flashlights , and it was dead! He even asked one of his employees, Have you ever seen the flashlights this slow? She said no of course. One blinked a few times….WOW! This hotel was claimed to be haunted by Al Capone, we got no voices no curtains moving , basically I wasted over 200$ on a guy that likes to talk….A fake? I would say oh yes!!! Chip Coffey is just an actor praying on grieving people who want to believe there is a place our loved ones go. Someone just told me to have faith, and I think that is the best advice. I would never go to a medium again!

Coffey is not better than Theresa Caputo. Both are frauds and take advantage of those who really want to see answer.

Chip cannot even pick up on how we are related by blood guess that is why as a kid the family never got any invites to dinner if Chip was real he should be able to figure it out

Excellent Letter Kristen. I was at that same show in Chicago. I went with my sisters and a girlfriend. We just thought we would check it out. Thank goodness we only paid around $50. What a racket this guy has going. He is a total fake !! We ended up leaving the show early as we could not take any more of his garbage. When he read that poor woman who lost her son and was saying that the son had a special name for her when he wanted something.. He called her Mommy… OMG ! My sisters and I looked at each other and could not believe what we were hearing. Lesson Learned !

I didn’t believe in Mediums until I found my Dad to be one. I thought he was full of crap too until a bunch of stuff he told me was going to come true did. These are things he had no idea about things at my job and things about an gf of mine he never met. The truth is your mostly all atheists and non believers. Best thing you can do is stay off the internet. Because you never know who is writing these things.

  Jarred, it’s all hearsay and anecdotal not proof and no Jarred we are not all atheists in fact I am true christian who follows the word of God when it comes to a supposed “psychic”, Our God YOUR GOD too says this below; If you dont believe us look it up for yourself.
  
  Plus these people are all fake and frauds that why they made a living at it! IF they were “real” why not help everyone? Why not prevent many deaths with such accurate predictions? (no answer? hmmm )

    This is sick! You are providing BIBLICAL quotes as factual information, But you are also saying they are false. The bible calls out mediums and necromancers, so they must be real. If not, Why mention them in the scripture? I think you need to figure out what message you are trying to get across. Apparently you are denying the word of god by calling mediums fake. You are inadvertently being a false prophet! The greatest trick the devil ever pulled isn’t convincing the world he doesn’t exist, the greatest trick is convincing godly people they are doing gods work while actually damaging the word of god. You should be ashamed, you are just a pawn that only posts about being “a true christian” because it makes you feel righteous.

      No, it doesn’t make psychic/mediumship real (because we all know mediums are fake) It’s just diametrically opposed to christian doctrine to claim their super powers are a “gift from god”….

Every one has their own opinion and is entitled to their own opinion on people, religion, ect. I’m here to say that I believe in Chip Coffey. He came up to Northern Michigan University and did readings. I was lucky enough to be chosen, before Chip talked to me I didn’t believe in any of that kind of stuff at all. Just five minutes listening to Chip pass on a message my deceased best friend helped me more then years of attempted grieving. He gave me something to live for, I had been swirling down a drain with my life. I was throwing it away with extreme drug abuse and a bottomless pit of depression. I’m sorry for those who havent been blessed or unable to pull an experience like this out of Chip. You may say that I was tricked and I’m a gullible fool, but really I dont care. If you dont believe in these kinds of things or accept them into your heart, then no it wont work for you. If you think all Chip is doing is hurting people then take my word when I say Chip brought me a feeling of peace, love, and a new sense of motivation to get my shit together. If you say Chip is a fraud and a fake, the feelings I have are not fake and I am thankful for this man to have crossed paths with me in life. Some people just are unable to expand their mind and willing to accept. I just want to say that there are people out there that He has helped, dont say that he is a bad person because what he said to me was spot on and incredible. Chip you got a fan on this page, these people just havent had a positive experience yet.
